Pvt. Benjamin J. Rennells was a fifer in the 2nd Ct. Continental Regiment, enlisting in Dec., 1775 at the age of 14 at Stafford Ct. He served in Capt. Amos Walbridge’s Company. He fought in the battles of Flatbush, East Chester, White Plains, Trenton (crossing the Delaware with Washington on Christmas night in 1776), and Princeton. He re-enlisted in July 1777 in Capt. Amos Walbrige’s Co., 2nd Ct. Regiment. He then fought in he battles of Germantown, Monmouth, and Stoney Point. He wintered at Valley Forge with Washington’s Army. He served until January 28, 1780.
